Tax Free at Zero G

The French détaxe system allows non-EU citizens to reclaim the TVA they pay on items purchased in France. TVA in France is 19.6%. This can represent a good saving, and is in addition to existing shop discount.

How does it work?
1) You choose the gear and pay for it.
2) We fill out a détaxe form and give it to you when you’re ready to leave.
3) When you leave the EU, you get the form stamped.
4) You send the form back to us using the prepaid envelope
5) We credit your credit/debit card.

Where do I get the form stamped?
If you are flying out of Lyon or Milan airport, get the form stamped at Customs in the airport. If you’re flying out of Geneva, you’ll need to get it stamped at the French/Swiss border, as Switzerland is not in the EU. The détaxe office is right under the yellow bridge as you get to the border, and there’s plenty of parking opposite.

Is there a minimum?
175€. This can be made up of a number of small items or one big item. For example, if you bought ten beanies costing 17.50€ each, you’d qualify. There’s no maximum; the more you spend, the more you save. If you’re not sure if you’re going to meet the minimum over the season, just give us your name when you buy things

When do I get refunded?
Refunds are processed by our accountants between two and four weeks after we receive the stamped form back. It’s a good way to save money for summer trips.

Who can do this ?
If you live outside the EU (in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, Russia, Canada, America, anywhere!), you qualify.

What if I’m posting the gear back home?
Unfortunately it’s a personal export scheme, so you can only détaxe items you’re carrying with you. The customs officers reserve the right to request to see the gear, even though they rarely do so in practise.

EXAMPLE
You want a board, boots & bindings package that costs 900€. You negotiate a 10% shop discount, then you détaxe.

900€ - 10% shop discount = 810€
810€ –132.74€ TVA = 677.26€ or a
222,74€ saving
