We've been really proud of our fleet of rental bikes this summer. Second to none in the Chamonix Valley, if not the Alps, our Specializeds have seen use on the valley's roads and trails for a couple of months...and now it's time to sell them.
We're doing something pretty unique this year. As we still rent bikes through to the end of October, we need to keep a lot of them back. But if you want to buy your cheap ex-rental bike now, why not...it'll be in better condition, you'll get more use out of it - it'll just be a tiny bit more expensive.
Most clients so far seem to want to hang on until the cheaper prices kick in in September.
Of course, if you want to reserve a specific bike for 15th September, paying the lowest price but having the bike guaranteed for you at this time, that's cool too; just ask in-store and we'll take a deposit.
Here are our 2010 ex-rental tarifs.

It's been DRY up here in Chamonix for nearly two weeks now. Trails are really dusty and grip is great, so we're having fun despite the Chamonix July/August biking restrictions. The Flégère bike track is bedding in nicely, even though not too many people seem to be riding it. Still tons of rocks in the corners of the top section; and the trail signage is lacking. Even after riding it lots you still get spat out on 4x4 tracks and have to look around like crazy to see where the track goes next. We'll be doing our Burton Late Model snowboard orders next week...we've heard rumbings about a Freebird split which we're getting excited about. Anything to do with Lynard Skynard? Doubt it, but sounds fun nonetheless. See you at the Chamonix Bike Fest - we'll be doing tests at Flégère on Big Hits & Demos. More info at the shop or at POC.

Last week, Brit lads Jack and Geroge hired bikes from us and, by the look of these shots, had a brilliant time. Here's some pictures of less-travelled Chamonix Valley routes, all ridden on Zero G rental bikes (Enduro Pitch Pro class...specific bikes were Enduro Comp and Enduro Expert on this occasion).

Here are some pictures we took yesterday of the 2010 La Flegère Chamonix downhill track. This trail will be open from this Saturday 19th June 2010...that's when the lift will be open. Trail looks good, with some nice pine northshore ladder bridges. This track is the one that runs down from La Flégère midstation to Les Praz. There's meant to be even more off the top of the Index, but the Index lift chairs didn't have bike carriers on just yet. Click on the picture to play the slideshow.
See you in the lineup Saturday morning!

Well summer has started, the shop is busy, second hand bikes are flying out and we're renting roadbikes and hardtails like crazy. Right now the only lift that's open in the valley is the Aiguille du Midi cablecar - and you're not even allowed bikes on it! 19th June is the date in everyone's diaries. That's when Brévent, Flégère, Le Tour and Vallorcine open up.
New for 2011 are the Flégère downhill tracks which go from the top of the Index chairlift right down to the cable car. It's a brilliant and long awaited first step in the Chamonix Bike Park direction. Being able to access a specific downhill bike track a few minutes' pedal from the shop is going to be awesome; in previous years you had to take the train to Les Houches or Vallorcine to get anything like this. If the weather holds out we'll take a walk up the track and snap some photos!
Come in to the store and say hi if you're passing through; we're open 9-1230, 1530-1900 every day of the year. |

Hi from Chamonix! Even though the winter season up here in Chamonix goes on well into May, town is quieting down and we're seeing more and more bike customers come through the doors. We've already got a large part of the 2010 Specialized range out on show, as well as some great deals on second hand bikes, so come have a look.
Furthermore, we're selling off our ENTIRE snowboard rental stock for silly money, so if you need a new board don't hesitate to come in and pick one up. We'll put the full stocklist up in a couple of days, as well as the snowboard stock that we've got left.
Some more great news; Zero G Chamonix is very proud to announce our relationship with world-leading (only?) splitboard binding company Spark R&D. These guys are extremely cool and if you splitboard, you're bound to know about them already. If you're getting into splitting, look them up or come in and check out the products. Full sales, accessories (crampons etc), product support and warranty service at Zero G soon...and naturally, the must-have Spark R&D Fuse splitboard bindings. |

New Shopfront & Autumn Closing Dates

Monday, 28 September 2009 08:45 |

Zero G is proud to unveil an artist's impression of the store's new look. The facade is going in in November and will bring the front of the store completely up-to-date. We're using local Chamonix craftsmen and materials to give the place an authentic touch, although the look is going to be refreshingly modern. Unfortuantely that means that we'll be closed from 9th-23rd November. And up then, we've got tons of bargains in our summer clearance. In the meantime, check out the artists impression of the new look.

Here are a couple of montages we've done at the shop this weekend. The first is a skate build for a kid from Sardinia, because there are no skate shops in Sardinia. You will be pleased to hear the other two wheels were added shortly after this shot was taken.

The second is slightly less core but still awesome nevertheless. Cocky the dog never had it so good thanks to your boys at Zero G.
